Museum in Kyūshū
"Kumamoto Prefectural Museum of Art" has a special room Sōshoku Kofun-sitsu (装飾古墳室 "Mural Barrows Exhibition Room") devoted to the decorative tumuli and rock arts in the Prefecture where replicas of typical 10 sites are shown, because they regard them as the forerunners of the art activities in that area. In Kumamoto Prefefture 200 decorative tumuli and decorative rock-cut tombs are found out of 700 in Japan.
Open 9:30-17:15, closed on Mondays and the days around the New Year's Day, admission 430 Japanese Yen (2024 price).
