This barrow cemetery with some large beautiful burial cairns is located in the middle of a large pine tree forest next to an old footpath or travelling route. Burial cairns from the bronze age are rare so far to the inland and so far from modern settlements. They are much more common along the coast so this barrow cemetery is very unique.

Even though the cairns are inside a pine tree forest and some smaller trees and vegetation is growing next to and around the cairns the cairns themselves are free of almost any vegetation and the individual stones are totally bare. The cairns are all located on a small elongated rocky outcrop of hill oriented in a line going SSE to WNW.

The barrow cemetery consists of four larger round cairns and at least 4-6 more smaller cairns. The largest are on top of a rocky hilltop and very easy to see even from a distance between the trees.

The two largest cairns are very close to one another, almost touching the edges of one another and both have had a circle of larger stones around the edges. The two largest cairns are almost 18 metres in diameter and around 2 metres in height. The two smaller ones more to the west are 12-15 metres in diameter and 1 to 1,5 metres in height. The area around have lot of stone heaps and piles and it could be more burials in and around the area. There are also described in a archaeology video on youtube that there are several lines of stones or ancient stone walls criss crossing the area but they were very hard to find in the terrain. The cairns doesn't seem to have any damage to them and the craters often found in burial cairns are not visible.

Closer to the footpath there are also four more smaller cairns only around 3-4 metres in diameter but these are very hard to see in the terrain.

The footpath or old road is believed to be an ancient road leading from inland east Norway towards Sweden and might have been a well used ancient travelling route.
