Ancient Temple in Sicily (Sicilia)
Temple in this former Greek colony which was sacked by Carthaginians in 409 BCE and was destroyed for good in 250 BCE by an earthquake.
This was the oldest and smallest of the 3 temples at this part of the site, with 6 by 14 columns measuring 61 metres by 24 metres, dates to the early 6th century BCE. The temple was probably completely destroyed by the above earthquake and has not been restored.
