The Devil´s Rocking Stone
The Devil´s Rocking Stone submitted by ladrin : Logan stone near Babylon is back in its proper place.. (Vote or comment on this photo)
A very popular logan stone situated near the village of unusually epic name of Babylon in Bohemia. The village itself is a popular holiday destination and the rocking stone is one of its attractions. Huge piece of granite weighs 40t and has 4 meters in length.

The stone is well known since ever and was described in great detail by the famous Czech writer and historian Bohuslav Balbín already in 17th century for example. Several folk rumours is associated with it like the legends about "devil's mill or the devil's bed".

In interesting fact to be mentioned. In the 19th century, Italian railway workers rocked the stone so hard that it slipped and became motionless for more then one hundred years. In 2009 initiated local community the action to put the rocking stone back into its original position. It was finished with the great effort of the engineer Pavel Pavel, "the man who made the Rapa Nui statues walk."
