Misc. Earthwork in Centre:Indre-et-Loire (37)

The town of Amboise has been occupied at least from the Iron Age. It was an important commercial trade centre, in any case during the Roman times.

Le Rempart - The hillfort wall was a hillfort of the Romans to protect themselves against the Gauls, the original people of France.

Amboise has been a kings Residence for several kings. Leonardo da Vinci stayed in Amboise when he was invited by king Charles VIII.
