I tried the coordinates given above and I ended up in the main road in Sorges, 5 mins driving to la Pelletinie and 5 more minutes walking to the dolmen itself.
the coordinate given by our GPS were N45.30028499 E 0.8478516.
I would get rid of this here pare and the other page in the website indicating the same dolmen in different points around Sorges, Dordogne with the names: Dolmen de sorges and/ or Dolmen du Clapier, the Clapier is an area near Sorges, but 5 mins aprox driving from La Pelletinie.

This website has the Dolmen de Sorges at N45.30396 E0.84796, which is approximately where you described your find. Also the photos appear be the same dolmen as the photos you submitted for the Dolmen La Pelletenie.

I'm a little confused about the names of these two dolmens since the "Dolmen de Sorges" appears to be farther away from Sorges than the "Dolmen de la Pelletenie".

A couple of things to note.

French Dolmen names and listings - When I produced the listings that are now here as pages on the portal, most of the sites I found did not have individual names, but were simply listed as a dolmen within a certain community (village/parish). So, the dolmen de Sorges was no doubt a dolmen within the community of Sorges, and given an approximate position roughly centred on the village centre. This can of course be several miles out from the real thing, so until somebody gets there and records it, or finds it on a map, it should be lkisted with accuracy = 2, nearest village, or perhaps 3. It should only be recorded with 3 or 4 dec places of accuracy.

It was sometimes the case where the dolmen was given a name or more precise location, so I guess I found record of a dolmen at La Pelletinie, which is a "lieu dit" (hamlet/farm/local name) within the overall community of Sorges. Here, the original position may also have originally been listed to nearest village, but in this case, I must have spent time going over the maps and finding La Pelletinie on the maps and given it a better position, probably rated 3 or 4.

It is only when somebody with local knowledge, or who has visited, comes along an gives precise positions that we can update the positions here on the portal, which I tried to do yesterday for La Pelletinie. Similarly local knowledge can provide a "proper" name, such as alchemille has now done for La Pelletinie, with his Caillou de la Pelletinie, with which the whole site should be updated soon, with dolmen de P moved to alternate name.

So, it is probable that our original entry for "dolmen de Sorges" is another dolmen in the community of Sorges, but withh unknown at the time local name and unknown exact position. And that is the way it stays until local knowleddge comes along and improves our data.

As for T4T35's website, I cannot open that her in the office at lunchtime, so cannot give a full answer, other than to say that much of his early listing was based upon exactly the same data as ours, and quite possibly my original searches and estimates of position frommaps. He has since gone his own way, nd like us, the only way his data will become updated is with local knowledge or an actual visit. It is possible he gets more info than we do, as his website is in French!
