Cursus in Essex

Elongated Neolithic ditched enclosure on high ground overlooking the River Stort. Crop marks reveal two parrallel ditches 200m long and 20m apart with two curved ditches that enclose the ends. All traces of the mound have been ploughed flat. Because of their great age and still unknown purpose, all cursus monuments are of national importance. No access, but visible from the footpath to Harlow Barrow (Bronze Age).
