Beattie Park Mound Group submitted by AKFisher : Beattie Park Mounds in Rockford, Illinois. These effigy and linear mounds are said to have been constructed around AD 700. Originally there were 13 mounds but in the 1950s Sears destroyed most of them by building a parking lot. Today that is the location of a museum.
