Georgia Guidestones
Georgia Guidestones submitted by dodomad : Written on the Georgia Guidestones are these ten desires of the New World Order: THE MESSAGE OF THE GEORGIA GUIDESTONES 1. Driving on rural Ga. 77 in northeast Georgia, leads you to this now-destroyed monument. Elbert County stonemasons, not ancient priests, fashioned this circular array of six granite slabs, but its origins are almost as intriguing. In 1979, a mysterious stranger calling himself "Mr. Christian" commissioned the curiosity on the edge of a cow pasture 7.2 miles north of Elberton.

He reportedly told the president of an Elberton granite finishing plant that what he called the Georgia Guidestones would be "for the conservation of the world and to herald a new age of reason."

As they talked, he admitted his name really wasn't Christian, but he was a Christian and a patriot, who represented a group outside of Georgia with similar beliefs. Only the Elberton banker who handled Mr. Christian's substantial deposit ever knew his true identity. He took the secret to his grave, and no one has ever identified Christian or his associates.

Elberton is about 100 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta. Take I-85 to Lavonia (Exit 173) and head south 35 miles on Ga. 17.

Nearby attractions

The Elberton Granite Museum & Exhibit, on College Avenue, a half-mile west of downtown Elberton, is open 2-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 706-283-2551, www.egaonline.com. Free. You can see Dutchy, a model of the Guidestones and a film and exhibits about the granite industry.

Georgia Guidestones is on Ga. 77, 7.2 miles north of Elberton. You can walk right up to it and have a picnic on the grounds. No one keeps count of visitors each year, but about 3,000 people visit the museum annually.

Authorities Searching for Whoever Set Off Explosion at Georgia Monument by Anonymous on Thursday, 07 July 2022
bat400 posted

CNN - A mysterious Georgia monument was damaged Wednesday when an explosive device was detonated near the attraction, prompting authorities to then demolish it for safety reasons, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said.
Investigators are now searching for whoever set off the explosive at the nearly 20-foot monument known as the Georgia Guidestones, the GBI said.
The blast happened around 4 a.m. in Elberton, about 100 miles east of Atlanta, according to the GBI. No one was injured, officials said.
A large section of the granite slab at the site sometimes referred to as “America’s Stonehenge” broke apart and collapsed, according to a video released by authorities.
A car left the site shortly after the explosion, a second video shows.
The monument then was demolished for safety reasons, the GBI said.
The four vertical slabs that dominate the Guidestones were inscribed back and front with 10 principles, each side in a different modern language. The capstone is inscribed in the alphabets of early human civilizations – Egyptian hieroglyphics, Babylonian cuneiform, Sanskrit and classical Greek.

An explosion Wednesday at the mysterious Georgia Guidestones in Elberton, Georgia has caused significant damage to the stones.

The preliminary information indicates that someone detonated an explosive device at around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations.
1980 story when Georgia Guidestones were unveiled and dedicated

GBI officials said officials with the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office found the explosion destroyed a large portion of the structure. The Elbert County Sheriff's Office asked the GBI to assist with the investigation.

The guidestones sit on a site 7 miles north of Elberton on Georgia Highway 77 and are often referred to as an American Stonehenge. Christopher Kubas, Executive Vice President of the Elberton Granite Association, said the organization has a role in the maintenance and preservation of the Guidestones.

“The capstone piece has been damaged and I’m sure the other three wings, and the center support probably have damage to them as well,” Kubas said. “Each one of those wings is 16 feet 4 inches tall. It’s 1.7 inches thick and it’s 6’6 wide. They weigh about 42,000 pounds each.”

Kubas said there were 24/7 surveillance cameras installed on the site a few years ago after incidents of vandalism.

"The stones have messages on them," Kubas said. "You know, guides for humanity. Some people find them offensive. Some people don’t. Over the years we’ve had messages spray painted on the Guidestones."

Kubas said the site has always been a major tourist attraction.

"I’ve met people from Australia, from China, from all over the world here at these Guidestones," Kubas said. "We probably have an excess of 20,000 visitors a year here."

Locals said they couldn't believe it when they heard the news.

sounds like reasonable rules for humanity, not evil, or satanic, just good rules we should already be following as god commanded that we be good stuwards of the earth and everything in it, which we have not been.

Christians demand removal of 'satanic' 10 Commandments by Andy B on Friday, 01 August 2008
(User Info | Send a Message)
A Christian organization is pressuring the community of Elberton, Ga., to tear down a massive, granite monument that lists an alternative set of Ten Commandments that the organization labels satanic.

The monument, known as the Georgia Guidestones, was built under a cloud of mystery in 1980. It lists 10 commandments in eight different languages, including a call to establish a new world language, limit human population to 500 million and avoid being "a cancer on the Earth."

"We have atheists and Satanists getting the Bible's Ten Commandments removed from public property," said Mark Dice, spokesman for the group The Resistance, "yet the satanic Georgia Guidestones have stood for decades, and nobody seems to care. Well, we do."

Comparing the monument's command to "maintain humanity under 500 million in perpetual balance with nature" with an estimated world's population of over 6 billion, Dice told WND, "Regardless of anyone's religion, I think they would find it objectionable that there's this monument that calls for the elimination of over 90 percent of the world's population."

The 19-foot tall, 237,746-pound monument, sometimes referred to as "American Stonehenge," [Hmmm, MegP Ed] consists of four granite tablets, each 16 feet high, over 6 feet wide, and 1 foot, 7 inches thick radiating out from a central "Gnomen Stone" and crowned with a capstone that weighs nearly 25,000 pounds by itself.

Sandblasted into the tablets are over 4,000 characters that list the 10 commandments in eight languages: English, Russian, Hebrew, Arabic, Hindi, Chinese, Spanish and Swahili.

The commandments themselves are as follows:

* Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
* Guide reproduction wisely – improving fitness and diversity.
* Unite humanity with a living new language.
* Rule passion – faith – tradition – and all things with tempered reason.
* Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
* Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
* Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
* Balance personal rights with social duties.
* Prize truth – beauty – love – seeking harmony with the infinite.
* Be not a cancer on the Earth – leave room for nature – leave room for nature.

Old news, but a recent comment prompted me.

See rationalwiki.org for more information and links to the "Conspiracy Theorists" who have called for the Georgia Guidestones to be torn down.
