This henge is located 1 kilometre south of the Hill of Tara and as such would have formed part of the sphere of influence of that centre. Henges like this were constructed around 2000 BC in this part of Ireland. The eastern edge of this enormous henge is 20 metres into a field from the junction at Balpere Hill. The site measures 220 metres across and traces a huge arc around the field although parts of its earthworks are leveled now. There is a sign and style here.
