Holy Well or Sacred Spring in Dumfries and Galloway

This well, classified as a holy well, by Canmore, is recorded as Canmore Site ID 60523.

In both 1882 and 1972, the well could not be located, although a more recent entry by R & F Morris, in 1982, tells us: "(The well is) situated on the west short of the Mull of Galloway, near Logan' (reference from Morris and Morris R and F, (1982) Scottish healing wells: healing, holy, wishing and fairy wells of the mainland of Scotland. Page 183).

I have scoured the National Library of Scotland maps from 1848 onwards (both 6 inch and 25 inch), and also the Dumfries & Galloway Historic Environment Record, but been unable to locate this well, so if anyone has a transcript of Morris & Morris's 1982 book, I'd be very pleased to hear from you.

If anyone has any information about this well at all, please leave a comment on this site page - thanks in advance for your help.
