Round Barrow(s) in Pembrokeshire
A barrow encircled by houses and reused as an 18th century execution mound or Gibbet.
Coflein; Barrow 28m diameter, 1.3m high.
The site of an e.18th century gibbet (Dat Prn7633), which has yielded a sword blade (Dat Prn7632), this mound was opened by Fenton in the e.19th century, who found an urn and remains of cremations. Fenton also records a recumbent monolith set within a possible henge in the next field (Dat Prn3800), approached by a 'pitched avenue'. A further enclosure nearby (SN17751229, Dat Prn13291), is thought to be medieval.
