With 'y Gaer' in the name, I would have thought that the site's description as a hillfort could not be dismissed quite so definitively? The aerial pictures of this site on COFLEIN seem to have the look of something being defended, and the site is on the Mynydd-y-gaer (Mynydd = mountain/hill, gaer = mutation of caer, stronghold/fort).

Perhaps we need a category of 'defended enclosure' as used on the COFLEIN site, rather than merely miscellaneous earthwork?

It's an enclosure not hillfort.
