Round Cairn in Cumbria

A fine location. If you've travelled from Tebay to Kirkby Stephen, you've surely noticed it. It's at the highest point and has BIG views (which provide most of its ambience). The cairn is recorded as Pastscape Monument No. 14698 and there a very brief description refers to finding the burnt bones of an adult. The short walk is pocked with sink holes including one big one. If conditions are less than favourable, I'd recommend a westerly curve when leaving the roadside gateway, and returning on a similar line. This cairn is only 3.5mls from the similarly named cairn(s) at Rayseat, aka Raiset Pike.
