Standing Stones in Channel Islands and Isle of Man

In 1847 F.C. Lukis recorded two menhirs on Burhou, since lost. The island was used for artillery practice during WW2 so possibly they are destroyed or recumbent.

The Neolithic builders seem to have been obsessed with the extreme cardinal points of the Channel Islands, Roger. They built a Venus Pool at the most western point, the tidal island of Lihou; they built a tidal island, La Motte, at the most southerly point and at the easternmost point ... we haven’t got that far yet!

I thought I ought try to flesh this out a little, it intrigued me when I found the Lukis reference. This must be the most Northerly of the Channel Island sites, the whole island is a nature reserve for the seabird colony, landing is only allowed at certain times. That this little dash of land on the edge of Europe should have had the attention of the Neolithic builders I find fascinating.
I believe there is a webcam to watch the seabirds.
