Wufruna's Well sits to the north side of Gorsebrook Rd, between a bridge and roundabout near the Racecourse.
More information can be found at Pastscape Monument No. 77046, which tells us this is the site of a pre-1901 well with traditional 10th century associations, the well now covered by the railway embankment sidings, but with a stone-built pillar formerly fitted with a pipe supplying a small stone trough. The well is also scheduled as Historic England List ID 1280432, where it is called the Wulfruna Memorial.
The Journal of Antiquities also includes a page for this well - see their entry for Wulfruna’s Well, Wolverhampton, West Midlands, which includes a photograph of the well housing, and background information about the well and Lady Wulfruna. The Journal adds: "The well water originally had healing qualities that were said to be very therapeutic with strong medicinal values. In the Middle Ages and, indeed, upto the Victorian age, faithful pilgrims came here in the hope of a miraculous cure. And no doubt they did receive a miraculous cure because the well continued to be in use for many centuries after."
