Richard13 visited on 1st May 2021 - their rating: Cond: 2 Amb: 4 Access: 5 The earthworks are still visible although they are low in some places. However they can still be clearly traced. The interior is planted with beech trees and carpeted in bluebells in the spring, when it can often become busy. Outside these times it is usually quiet.

Hillfort in Oxfordshire

The Iron Age hillfort on Badbury Hill is partly leveled, in it’s northern and eastern sector the plough has reached the earthworks. The best preserved part of the ramparts is in the south, where remains of the ditch can be distinguished.

The area of Badbury Hill is in care of National Trust – the footpaths leading through the forest covering interior of the hillfort make it a very quiet place, definitely worth a visit.
