Although there is no apparent sign of this barrow on the ground, the site is impressive in terms of situation, being as it is a strategic point along the Ridgeway from Freshwater to Carisbrooke, at the junction with another track and commanding spectacular views in all directions, including long views along the trackway itself. There is also an Anglo-Saxon burial site to the south of the Tennyson Trail here.
