Holy Well or Sacred Spring in Nottinghamshire

"An account written in 1641 describes St Ann's Well, sometimes known as "Robin Hood's Well", as a popular meeting place; it was six feet square. The well, much neglected, was concealed by a railway embankment which was constructed in 1887.
The ruins of St Anne's Chapel recently stood nearby, at the foot of the hill near the well and about 200 yards from St Anne's maze, the materials of which were used in 'some building there about'."
