foz750 visited on 18th Aug 2023 - their rating: Cond: 5 Amb: 5 Access: 3 I visited this site in on a hot sultry evening and the ambiance was superb, us me,the stones and two deer for company. The was no one around so I quickly nipped across the farmers field to see this 4 mtr stone.

TheCaptain couldn't find on 29th Aug 2005 I couldn't easily find this one, nor anywhere to park to have a proper look. It is not very near to the road, and so I left.

We asked permission from the farmer in his yard at La Moussadière to walk across his pasture land.

This is an intriguing site. Apart from the obvious upright menhir, there are several other stone features in this permanent pasture field. There is a long pile of boulders which might possibly be an allée couverte, another roundish pile of boulders (possibly a dolmen type feature?), a strange horizontally cracked rock with a small stone wedged between the two halves, and several erratic looking rocks just lying around.
My initial thought was that some farmer had once gathered these rocks into various piles, but I find this hard to grasp since all the rocks haven't been gathered up and since the field is pasture there seems no reason to have done so and also to leave so many stones lying around (and some of the piled boulders are much larger than those that remain scattered about).
Definitely a mystery here.
