St. Eloy's Well
St. Eloy's Well submitted by DavidCWoods : Not looking at its best, but happily under restoration. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Holy Well or Sacred Spring in Greater London.
Located beside Holy Trinity Church, Tottenham (itself not looking in very good condition), near to High Cross.

Apparently a large stone with characters engraved on it was found when the well was cleared out several hundred years ago, but was badly damaged in the process. It is now surrounded by a temporary fence as is being restored. It is referred to on the accompanying notice as "Old Tottenham Well".

This isn't the location of St Eloy's/Loy's Well. It was a bit north of here, just west of The High Rd, near present-day Bruce Grove station. This link also refers to other sources eg Tottenham's famous 1619 map https://www.thenorthernantiquarian.org/2021/01/19/st-loys-well-tottenham/
