La Motte castrale de Monterran
La Motte castrale de Monterran submitted by Nick- : Site in Midi:Gers (32) France: La Motte castrale de Monterran March 2008. Reconstruction of an early Medieval house, the main mound is in the background. The tower for hunting, was blown down early this year in the gales..... (Vote or comment on this photo)
Hilltop earthwork, occupied in Iron Age and Medieval times. Information is lacking as the site needs excavating. It is presently covered in trees, but is being slowly cleared with the future aim of building a reconstruction of an early Medieval fort on the site.

See website:Here

To the West there is also a small early Medieval Earthwork, on which a reconstruction of a house of that period is being built. To the South; another small Mound.

The mound is not marked on the 1:25000 map!
