Trevisker Round is a small agricultural settlement dating from the Bronze Age, superseded by a larger defended enclosure of 1.2ha and followed by a Romano-British phase at the end of the C1 AD, It was partly excavated in 1955 and 1956, when a school was to be built here. Excavation showed that the site was first occupied in the Bronze Age by a small agricultural settlement of two circular timber houses and ancillary structures. A single radiocarbon date suggests occupation between 1700 and 1300 BC. This phase of occupation produced a large quantity and variety of Bronze Age pottery of four styles which has lead to the naming of most Cornish pottery of this period as 'Trevisker Style'. In the 2nd century BC or earlier, a round was established here. The original enclosure was only 0.5 acre (0.2ha) in extent, housing a single farmstead but was later superseded by a larger defended enclosure of 3.0 acres (1.2ha). This occupation was followed at the end of the 1st century AD by a Romano-British phase of occupation. The later enclosure was visible as a low earth bank forming an oval approx 120m by 80m. It was also noted that the interior had been hit by three bombs as a result of attacks on St Eval airfield
