Hillfort in Hokkaidō

On the riverside hill at the easternmost point of Tokoro Iseki, there is a L-shaped ditch at the northeastern corner. The surrounded area is a Chashi hillfort constructed by Ainu people 300 years ago. In- and outside of this Chashi, dwelling pits of preceding Okhotsk people were discovered and a subtle bone(horn?)-cut figure of bear was excavated. On the same hill, much older dwelling pits of Jōmon and Post Jōmon people were also discovered.
