I think Julian Cope described the recumbent as looking like a 'smashed tank' or somesuch similar thing. Definitely appropriate as the ruins of the rest of the site looks like a battlefield. |

Used to live a few minutes from this site. Recumbent is short and squat; other stones are stumpy and some are hidden in bushes. Lots of deer live in the woods. |

Access from the north is a bit hazardous as a little quarry has to be avoided. The circle is pretty much destroyed but the overgrown cairn is visible in the centre. Great views all around. |

2003 was the last proper visit, but I saw it from Dyce a couple of months ago. Very magical place that still feels ancient even as you watch the planes taking off below. |
