St. Leonard's Well (Winchelsea)
St. Leonard's Well (Winchelsea) submitted by DavidCWoods : The beginnings of the stream leading away from the well - trust me, it gets more impressive than this further down! The well is overlooked by a small tree - species not yet known - I've been told to waity until some leaves appear, then identification will be easier. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Having found a few references to this spot I found the most useful guide the local farm map! At the bottom of the "cliff" upon which Winchelsea is sited the main road has a hairpin bend. A footpath heads approximately south from the hairpin, past a sewage farm. Following this over a couple of stiles I reached a field full of sheep, and turned left to follow the bank of a small stream. As I climbed a gentle hill the stream petered out into a patch of sheep trampled earth which I believe is the remnant of the well, advertised as being situated at the bottom of the cliff.
