Two 'fine barrows' once existed at this site, but were destroyed without record when Harrowbeer aerodrome was constructed at Yelverton in the Second World War.

A 1934 photo of one of these [S. Taylor collection] is recorded in Dartmoor Preservation Association's book - 'A Dartmoor Century 1883-1983, One hundred years of the Dartmoor Preservation Association'. Pub. 1983.
