Holy Well or Sacred Spring in Highlands

This well sits on private property adjacent to a cemetery on the hill just behind Fortrose. It is a stone lined structure that is built at ground level into the hillside. The whole area is steep and very wet in places giving the impression that there is more than one spring.

St Boniface was abbot of a monastery in Rosemarkie in 716 AD.
