Whelpley Hill
Whelpley Hill submitted by Andy B : Probable Iron Age or medieval defended enclosure. There is virtually nothing to see on the ground. The circular site is partly enclosed by a shallow ditch, marked by the hedgerow in this photo of the Western edge of the site. Copyright Tom Presland and licensed for reuse under this Creative Commons Licence. (Vote or comment on this photo)
The visible and buried remains of a slight univallate hillfort located on a broad plateau in the Chiltern Hills. The hillfort is roughly circular in plan with the interior measuring 120m north west-south east by 100m south west-north east.
