Holy Well or Sacred Spring in Leicestershire and Rutland

Easily found beside the road in a small protected area recently improved is the ancient Blackfordby spring which gushes out at some force into a square well head.

Blackfordby Spring submitted by Horatio : Close to home this one this one or rather was. So this spring, I have laid down with my head below ground level and have drunk gallons of water out of this spring as a child of the village in the 70's and 80"s where I lived for thr first 16 years of my life.
