(2004-10-20) | The site the church was built on is very intriguing as a double sunset was visible from there for many years over Bosley Cloud. The noticeboard within the church itself states that it was an important place of worship long before the Christian missionaries arrived. A lot of research on this and other astronomical alignments has been carried out by local astronomer Kevin Kilburn - an interesting article can be found on the Leek online website - http://www.leekonline.co.uk/sunset/ |
