I don´t think this chariot is a "Sun disc" chariot. There´s no way anyone can imagine; depict or symbolize the Sun being dragged by a horse or any other animals.

It is my opinion that the disc represents the circumpolar revolving stars and the “dragging” animal either is the star constellation of Ursa Minor or Ursa Major. See http://www.windows2universe.org/the_universe/images/starmaps/map_ursa_minor_jpg_image.html

It is very common that circles and wheeled rings are interpreted as solar symbols instead of representing the celestial poles, but of course our ancestors did notice the revolving stars and the celestial pole point around which the stars revolve. See http://www.native-science.net/NorthPole.Centre.htm

- Another mythological misinterpretation also takes place regarding the mythological tellings and imagery of the Milky Way where the light from the Milky Way centre also is interpreted as the Sun and solar deities. See http://www.native-science.net/Mythology.Light_White_Right.htm

Sounds highly improbable.

I guess they only dimly noticed the sun crossing the sky every day...

This was a good one, it even mentioned 'rays' on one side.

I know what it is; its a beautiful design and a remarkably skilled construction. We are lucky that this one has survived.
