Description
Plumberow Mount from the south. An Iron Age round barrow at which roman coins were found. There was also a seconadry Saxon insertion burial into the mound.

this mound has now been fenced off try take pics ow its ruined they cut all of the trees away everything has gone

That is sad especially as so few barrows and other ancient sites remain to be seen in Essex. Most have been ploughed out or built over. The few that are left seem to be subjected to official vandalism. Perhaps it has been fenced off now to stop the mountain bike kids from eroding it.
