|Description ||Lovely situation, tucked away in a leafy dell, on the edge of an orchard. Access signposted from lane. Just across the lane from the 'gated' end of the churchyard path at Morwenstow - famous poet-priest, Hawker's - church. (A level path runs through the churchyard, just above the entrance gate to the drive of the Vicarage. There is a plan of the area opposite the main gateway to the church, near the tearooms and carpark.) Approach down overgrown steps fringed by fronds of ferns.
Door of little wellhouse was padlocked, so there was no opportunity to view the actual well. There was some damage to the wall on the other side of the wellhouse. A couple of stones near the bottom of the pitched roof, towards the front of the building, had fallen out, and lay nearby. It was a charming place, very peaceful.
