(2012-10-18) | I love comparing stones from different sites, it's odd that you can get geologically similar shapes in lots of different stone types [as they are very rarely worked], i agree that there are many of a similar shape to the one you mentioned and also the lozenge shape and the opposite phallic like stones you get at avebury or the hurlers and many other places, all this shows me that there was something universal going on and what was known seems very widespead, and does seem to have something to do with energy flows and how the site fits in with nature and the cosmos, many standing stones also look like Neolithic stone axes that have dropped from the sky and always seem to have what would be their sharp blades in the ground, even chambered cairns do it, take a look at the shell that's left of Pentre Ifan, it looks like a neolithic axe held up by other neolithic axes, but be warned once you start seeing them you can't stop, The center stone at Boscawen-Un is another good example, and that's got 2 Neolithic Axes carved in relief on it, as if to back up the theory a little bit. |
