These ritual standing stones are scattered all over the island of Menorca and conform to the T shape. This example is known as the split stone on account of the apparent split, although the left hand part of the stone is actually a seperate stone. I reckon they lifted the capstone, found it wouldn't balance and added an additional uprght to solve the problem. |
