Have been to see the late Aussteiger's (John Dixon's) collections of books, maps, photos and antiquities in Clitheroe. John's funeral will take place tomorrow 3rd October at Pleasington Priory 2pm, near Blackburn, Lancashire. At 2.40pm he will be cremated at nearby Pleasington Cremetorium. Wake to follow at 4pm at Pleasington Cricket Club. Anyone who remembers John is very welcome to attend.

Thank you Captain. Have attended a mass for John Dixon and a cremation. All very sad. John had apparently wrote upto 20 books and travelled the world meeting people in villages as far away as Siberia. He got on well with all those he met and looked on everybody "as a friend". Hope you're looking down on us all, John, and having a good chuckle.
