Amiable but quite oblivious to what he was doing, also stated he buries crystals at many sites.
Has anyone else come across this person? |
| Posted Comments: Retributor (2004-09-28) | I hope too......
| Amethysta (2004-10-01) | And he does this on behalf of whom - himself obviously. But does he not comprehend that the (in-)heritage of such sites means for the people and not the individual? | (2004-10-01) | Have you passed these pics and the guys details to the police? | Thorgrim (2004-10-01) | I hate witch hunts - the poor guy thinks he's saving the world or something. A kindly word and a little education might be better than persecution. What are the police going to do? Fine him? Lock him up? Take away his flute? | DavidRaven (2004-10-02) | Exactly. If we want to focus our anger on something, we should choose the gravel companies currently strip-mining our megalithic heritage. Not one slightly batty hippy. | Briga (2004-10-04) | Education is at fault, one slightly batty hippy doesn't know it is important not to do damage. Quarry companies full of people who have been taught that sucess = money and to worship the gathering of material wealth over other treasures and a heritage system which aims to preserve the visible bits of sites but not so well the surrounding "ritual landscape" | ishy (2004-10-06) | well i think that if someone has evidence of him defacing stones by carving swastikas onto them, which is what i've heard he's been up to, they should pass the info onto the appropriate authorities!
he may be batty; but what he 'poetically' expresses on his website is that he knows he's doing it, 'cos he's listening to the voices in his head. it's wilful damage, he's doing it deliberately; and yes, we should also be protecting the environment from quarry companies, but individuals are also responsible, see the rollright stones and other such attacks. we wouldn't hesitate to send evidence to create a case for the prosecution if they were neo-nazis carving swastikas onto stones, would we?
so it's ok if he's a supposedly batty hippy? | lichen (2004-12-16) | apparently he lives at some place called poundbury in Dorchester his website is www.mason68.fsnet.co.uk | Sinjy (2005-11-18) | I was at this site on 28 August 2005, I washed off a chalk swastika that was on the stone on the left of 'Starman' on the above photo. The rest of the site seemed untouched. |
