This is me engaged in a vain attempt to get an aerial photo of Maen Llia's shadow as it entered the stream. The clouds defeated me again, but I can confirm that the shadow enters the stream over the left hand stone on about August 6th, a cross quarter day in the ancient celtic calender.
Maen Llia is in the centre of photo, with a large Hawthorn tree beyond and in line also.
I tried for 3 days to get the photo I wanted, and between no wind, flat batteries and corrupted memory cards, and now clouds, this is the best I've managed. |
| Posted Comments: AngieLake (2012-08-12) | Very well done for all your efforts cerrig! .. and well done for noticing this feature. Fascinating. | Runemage (2012-08-12) | *Thank-you* for trying Cerrig, I'm sure that's a significant event tied in with the name. No-one would think a shadow could move so far. | cerrig (2012-08-12) | Cheers both, and thanks to Rune for alerting me to this possibility. I think that the link between these monuments and the Celtic calender is becoming stronger all the time. |
