(Passage grave with rectangular enclosure)
A very beautiful barrow, situated on a hill close to a small street
between Qualitz and Katelbogen.
There is a small footpath up to the tomb, so a visit is even possible
in growing season.
There are not so much remains of the enclosure, there is an intact
line of stones on the south-east long side; the other side is not complete.
Barrows size apprx. 23 x 12m.
Inside the enclosure, a well preserved chamber with five uprights
on each of the long sides.
The chamber is deeply embedded into the ground.
There are 4 mighty capstones, so just one is missing.
Size of the biggest capstone 3.1 x 2.3 x 1.2m.
There are a few cupmarks on one of the middle stones.
The barrow has been examined and restored in 1966. |
