I asked the nervous-looking bloke pacing up and down what was happening; a handfasting, he said.
I reckon they'd all been to a registry office first, as the ladies were all unsuitabley dressed for the outdoors; big hats and stilletos don't mix with windy days and cowpats.
We were invited to take part, but preferred to watch from outside the circle. The bloke (High Priest?) who led the proceedings was anxious I didn't photograph the actual ceremony, so I didn't.
Random overheard quote: 'I've already done three major rituals this week'...

(2004-09-07) | How lovely, how romantic! This circle had a very long, complicated original processional route pattern when I dowsed there in May, so it's well-used to rituals! | ocifant
