I wondered what it was as I was idly musing that the stone with its angled edges if viewed from a little further back, may exactly fit the shape of the fort on the horizon.

Great shot. You lucky swine !! We had a good dose of rain at the Ladies. The best crowd up there for years. Some superb drumming. Then sunset at the Druids Circle in Penmaenmawr. Heavy rain for that one !! Was still a moment of magic. Off to Bryn Celli Ddu tomorrow for sunrise to see if any photons reach the chamber. I'm somehow very doubtful having just looked at the Met Office predictions . . . Happy solstice. The angles do exactly match the hillfort but from a slightly odd low down angle. Good effort for the photo. Rock on

thanks Blingo for the Coment , Its abit too crowded up at Stanton for me but lots of people love it . The angle of the shot was from a Sitting Position which was best at the time and 3 0r 4 mins later it was just Grey and Wet . Walked back to the Roman road and it Chucked it down . There were a group of Cyclists who had cycled out from Sheffield at 2am so im hopimg they got back Safe. There was only a Small group of us present but The Chocolate cake and Lager went down a storm as did the weather soon after . :-)

mmmmmmmmm . . . chocolate cake and lager . . .
Yes -busy up at the Ladies but I feel that I always have to go to make sure everything goes well and to avoid any new firepits and tree damage. I'm a guardian of them there stones. No sun this morning at Bryn Celli Ddu . . . Rock on

Hear ,what your saying about damage and fire pits , i go up to wet withens at least once a week to make sure all is mellow, someone dug a big hole in the centre of the stones last year which i filled in again . A great place to chill whether its day or night and only a short walk from my house .

Nice one you two site Guardians :-) I love the way places attract the right people to care for them.

Good work Craig. Someone had recently made a fire in the middle of the Druids Circle. I sorted it a bit but the rain got the better of me and I retreated. Lots of organic pagan offerings at all of the sites I have visited in the last 2 weeks. Solstice seems to have been very strongly celebrated this year . . .
