| Posted Comments: chas duerdoth (2005-01-31) | hang on one second. this photo was not taken from dundon hill at all... you can't see the tor from anywhere up dundon hill! | DavidRaven (2005-05-30) | Well, I was there, saw, it and took this picture! Unless of course, I was abducted by aliens who were visiting Glastonbury, who messed with my camera? (Or, you could go up the Beacon and see for yourself, Chas?). | MarionBenham (2005-05-31) | I was actually surprised you can see the Tor from Dundon Hill, when I lived in Compton Dundon years ago the top of the hill was covered in forestry comission trees which would have hidden the view. You can do it in reverse and see the top of Dundon Hill from the Tor- look to the right of the Hood Monument on the Poldens to the South. | Diane Dundon (2005-10-04) | What's so special about Dundon Hill? I'm not being arrogent, just ignorent. | fwbrown (2005-10-04) | There are remains of an Iron Age hill fort there. More info is (among other places) here: http://www.southsomersetmuseums.org.uk/heritage/dundon-hillfort.htm | Diane Dundon (2005-10-11) | Oh right, thats actully quite interesting, I just thought the thatched cottages in the village were cute, but that puts a different perspective on things. Thanks!d.x |
