It is said that it was built on a natural terrace in the chalk landscape, which has now partly worn away due to erosion, so letting the eastern end of the barrow collapse down the slope. |
| Posted Comments: Thorgrim (2004-09-03) | Incredible- how weird! Excellent series on Coldrum and Coty, Cap. First rate photos and each one from a different angle and showing different aspects. Your descriptions should be taken as models for others to emulate - concise, relevant, informative, not over long. | thecaptain (2004-09-03) | Thanks for that nice comment Thorgrim. I'll try and keep it up - but no more for a few weeks now, holidays beckon ! | Graham (2004-10-31) | Of all the local kentish sites, Coldrum is the most rural and peaceful. Pity that the tree with all the ribbons on has been cut back, but still one of the best preserved sites locally. |
