| Posted Comments: bec-zog (2004-09-01) | It would appear that the two sarsens orginally embedded in the field fairly near to the Coffin Stone location have been dug out and dumped.
So does this indicate that yet another site falls fouls to farming practices.
The stone (Tottington) now erected by the lane was not alway present in this location , and it looks like it is one of the stones originally found in the bank adjacent to the stream which has also been "relocated" .
Does anybody have information on the "moving of these stones"?
| thecaptain (2004-09-02) | Are they allowed to do that ? It makes me seethe. But if perhaps by my visit I have in some way been of some help to this site, then perhaps some good can result. I can only encourage more people to photograph more often these ancient places |
