One of three wells in Devon built by the Fitz family. The others being Fice's Well at Tavistock and Fitz's well at Okehampton. It has 'IF 1568' carved above the entrance. The well is signposted from the road near the junction to Princetown, but I searched high and low for it - not realising it was hidden by a circular surrounding wall built by convicts in the 19th century. |
