|Description ||On the edge of the Gribin Iron Age fort - a memorial to the Williams family|
The Williams family donated the land on the Gribin to the National Trust. Richard Williams 1918-1975 of Tan yr Allt, Solva gave it in May 1937 in memory of his father Samson Thomas Williams and of his grandfather John Williams 1811 - 1881 formerly of Hendre Eynon (near Whitesands).
The giant stones behind the memorial appear to be part of the outer defensive fort wall but I'm not certain that they are perhaps part of a later enclosure. As more blackthorn is removed the defences will become clearer and I expect that aerial photography will clarify exactly where the outer boundary is.
