| Posted Comments: Andy B (2012-03-20) | Hello Wendy, thanks for the photos - this isn't in the Burl books or listed as a scheduled monument - how do you know about it? | WindC (2012-03-21) | Yes, it isn't, is it, Whiskey OscarcWhisky.... | WindC (2012-03-21) | report to follow, I have to get Kay, Carol and Tintin in on this | davidmorgan (2012-03-21) | I think these look like natural stones. This photo seems to have been taken at about 54.355576, -3.112538. That whole area is littered with natural outcroppings of rock. If someone had wanted to make a stone circle there, I bet they could have made a better job of it, given the abundance of stones. | WindC (2012-03-21) | Most are barely showing through turf. Could have done with 6 or 7 more people to mark them out. From a edge to the middle, it measured 24 feet aprox, and the same to the other end. | Andy B (2012-03-21) | Could you send some close up photos of the individual stones, or an indication of sizes. | WindC (2012-03-21) | Done. We absolutely believe this is a stone circle. | Andy B (2012-03-21) | Fine - thanks - we are very intrigued! | WindC (2012-03-21) | Are you getting English Heritage onto this site, or should I.?
You'd be quicker i think | Runemage (2012-03-22) | It is better if you do it directly, then you can answer any of their questions. I've sent you a pm with some contact details, good luck! | WindC (2012-03-24) | Looking at the map that davidmorgan has put up, a little to the NW of his arrow are 3 stones in a triangle, their distance apart is similar to what seems to be part of a octagonal pattern with a central stone to the E of the green arrow. | WindC (2012-04-05) | should read 48 ft across aprox |
