It has preserved 33 out of originally approx. 40 kerbstones, making it one of the best preserved sites in this area. The barrows' earthwork is heavily eroded and partly covered several kerbstones. Furthermore the site is largely overgrown with ivy, bushes and large oak trees. It is best visible out of growing season. Access is only possible by walk along field edges.

| Posted Comments: Runemage (2012-03-16) | Lovely image Martin. The foreground colours are very much realistic, the scrub, bare earth and furrows with emerging crop, then there's the slight rise of the monument itself and the silhouettes of the trees and beyond them the colours change into muted pastels that lend an 'otherness' to the landscape beyond. | Martin L (2012-03-17) | Thank you :) All a result of the slightly hazy morning so the colours indeed are fading. Personally I would possibly have preferred either more haze, a bit of sunlight or both, but as the view from that angle is rather instructive and I haven't seen any photo from the longside elsewhere I posted it anyway. |
