(2003-09-16) | These stones are the nearest henge to my home and I love to visit. I am not knowledgeable about such things but the stones have great gouges down their sides which do not look like natural erosion to me, they have the appearance of hands, one seems to have an indentation carved into its top, like a cup, or perhaps to hold oil for a wick? who knows, just an idea. There is no path to the stones and you have to either struggle over ploughed land, or risk the wrath of the farmer by trudging through his crop. | KayK
